Rosehip oil is made from the seeds of wild rosehip fruit taken from a type of rose plant that originated in Chile. It has anti-inflammatory properties and is rich in antioxidants that help to reduce oxidative stress in the skin. Below are some of its uses:
• Moisturizer – rosehip oil helps to nourish dry skin because it contains a range of fatty acids, such as linoleic acid, that is found in many moisturizing creams.
• Anti-aging – because of the high content of vitamin C in the oil it has a strong anti-aging effect on skin as a result of the vitamin’s antioxidant properties.
• Healing – the oil extracted from rosehip has been shown in research to help heal scars on skin by stimulating macrophages that promote skin regeneration.
• Brightener – it has been shown to help with hyper-pigmentation in skin and provides an overall brightening effect.
