The Ultimate Guide To Level 4 Ballistic Shields

1.13KViews

Level 4 ballistic shield is the most advanced level of bulletproof protection available. They can stop virtually any type of ammunition, and level 4 is the highest level you can get.

What should I know about this?

The shield will protect against rifle rounds, armor-piercing rounds, and shots from a 12-gauge shotgun at close range. It’s important to know that level 4do not stop all types of bullets; they only stop those that level 3 or lower cannot stop. They also do not stop explosive or airburst rounds.

For level four shields, you want to make sure that they are certified by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) and tested and rated for .30-06 armor-piercing ammunition at a minimum. Just like level three ballistic shields, level fours can be made from either Kevlar or Dyneema; however, this material is thicker than what you would find in level three shields’ construction. This means it will provide more protection against projectiles. Still, it can also reduce maneuverability when compared to level two bulletproof panels.
