One of the most popular writers of historical fiction is the English writer Philippa Gregory. Since 1987 she has written over 25 historical books, set in different time periods, as well as several children’s books. One of her best known novels is her 2001 book, The Other Boleyn Girl, set in the 16th century, which has been made into two movies. As well as other novels set during 16th century England, Gregory has written books set in a variety of other periods, including Tudor England, the 18th century, and the English Civil war of the mid 17th century. Gregory’s books are noted for their accuracy, and she has also been praised for her ability to bring the past and its real and fictitious characters, to life. Her books regularly top the best seller lists, and many of her fans eagerly await her next offering.
