How a Cool Water System Works to Beat the Heat

73Views

As temperatures soar in the summertime, it’s important to keep cool. But did you know that water chiller units can help with that?

A water chiller unit cools water down by removing the heat from it. Once the water is chilled, it can be used for a variety of purposes. For instance, it can be used to cool down machinery or even keep buildings at a comfortable temperature.

There are two types of water chiller units: absorption-type chillers and mechanical-type chillers.

Absorption-type chillers are powered by energy sources such as natural gas or steam. A solution runs over an evaporator, taking in heat and cooling the water. Meanwhile, a refrigerant takes the heat and moves it out of the system.

Mechanical-type chillers work by using compressors to move refrigerants to remove heat from the water.

Both types of water chiller units require proper maintenance and management to function effectively. Regular inspections and cleaning are necessary to keep the system running at peak efficiency.

If you’ve ever stepped into a cool building on a hot day, a water chiller unit is likely responsible for that refreshing temperature. These units are an important part of keeping us comfortable and productive during the hot summer months.
