That time was before George Friedman predicted his rise to power. Friedman is a geopolitical analyst who has made some pretty accurate predictions in the past and foresaw Trump’s victory in 2015.

Friedman founded the private intelligence firm Stratfor and has become a trusted analyst for many in the intelligence community. He predicted that Trump would win the Republican nomination in 2015 long before anyone else did. And he was right about that, too – not many people saw it coming either. Friedman also accurately predicted Brexit and several other major political events over the years.
Why is he so good at making predictions? It’s because of his knowledge of history and how similar events tend to repeat themselves. For example, back when The Soviet Union attempted to create its version of Facebook called “MySpace,” Friedman correctly predicted that such an idea wouldn’t work out well over time. From looking at past examples, he knew that people don’t like being forced to use something, and they will always find a way to get around it. So he was right again!
