Artificial Intelligence Vs Machine Learning: What’s The Difference?

Artificial Intelligence vs Machine Learning: There is a lot of buzz around Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) right now, but what do these terms actually mean?

Artificial intelligence can be defined as a process of programming computers to make decisions for themselves. This involves creating algorithms, or sets of rules, that can sort, analyze, and draw predictions from data.

Machine learning is a subset of AI, and is concerned with teaching computers to learn from experience. This means that machines can “learn” on their own, by analyzing data sets and identifying patterns.

The key difference between AI and ML is that AI relies on pre-determined rules, while ML allows computers to learn from experience. In other words, AI is a “static” process, while ML is a “dynamic” one. This also accounts for the different applications of these two technologies. Artificial intelligence can be used for tasks such as data mining and predictive analytics, while machine learning can be used for tasks such as image recognition and natural language processing.
