One of the best recovery methods to speed up muscle healing and improve performance is to take ice baths. However, unless you’re a professional athlete or have easy access to an ice bath machine, taking an ice bath can be difficult. Here are some tips on how to have ice baths at home:
1) Fill a bathtub with cold water and add as many large bags of ice as you can fit.
2) If you don’t have any large bags of ice, fill a garbage bag with lots of smaller ice packs or cubes.
3) Submerge your body in the icy water for 10-15 minutes.
4) Make sure to avoid contact with cold surfaces when getting out of the bathtub.
5) Wrap yourself in a warm blanket and relax for 20-30 minutes.
6) Repeat this process 2-3 times per week to get the best result from the procedure.
